BRUNSWICK — The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Wednesday identified a body found in the Androscoggin River last weekend as 34- year-old Jonathan Pye of Brunswick.

The identification was confirmed after an autopsy Tuesday, spokesman Mark Belserene said.

Pye’s body was discovered by Brunswick Town Manager Gary Brown while boating in Merrymeeting Bay just after 10 a.m. Sunday. Rescuers retrieved the body from the river near Brick Island in Bowdoinham, Brunswick Deputy Police Chief Marc Hagan said.

Pye is survived by his parents, two sons and three sisters.
