Roll call list has addition

Westbrook City Clerk Lynda Adams has reported an addition to the memorial roll call list printed in last week’s American Journal. Alda Roy died Feb. 6, 2013.

Caston-Talbot insurance executive at Clark

Heather Caston-Talbot of Westbrook has been named an account executive in the Business Insurance Department at Clark Insurance.

Caston-Talbot is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and is the president of the Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland, an industry trade association. Caston-Talbot has more than 13 years of experience in the insurance business and joined Clark Insurance in 2004.

Clark Insurance is an 81-year-old employee-owned independent insurance agency with offices in Portland, Saco and Windham as well as Manchester, N.H.

Ortiz joins St. Germain Collins

St. Germain Collins, an environmental consulting and engineering firm, has announced that Anthony Ortiz, a recent University of Maine civil and environmental engineering graduate, has joined the firm as an environmental scientist.

Ortiz, who lives in Westbrook, will support both the firm’s Environmental Health and Safety Compliance and Environmental Assessment and Remediation teams by conducting soil and groundwater sampling, underground storage tank removal inspections, training, EHS compliance services, and more.

Prior to joining St. Germain Collins, Ortiz worked as the EHS coordinator for a national lawn and garden company in the Lewiston/Auburn area providing training, inspections, permitting, compliance and monitoring. He has also worked as both a teaching and research assistant at the University of Maine.

Tate House museum celebration

The Tate House Museum, 1270 Westbrook St., in the Stroudwater section of Portland is hosting a season-opening celebration from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

The celebration will interest many in Westbrook as the Stroudwater area is associated historically with Col. Thomas Westbrook, namesake of the city.

The celebration tours include house architecture and gardens, Stroudwater Historic Neighborhood, and the Stroudwater Burial Ground, all for $20 admission fee. Refreshments of strawberries, tea sandwiches, cookies and punch will be served in the Means House.

Built in 1755, the house was the home of Capt. George Tate, who was the area mast agent for the British Royal Navy.

Historians to hold annual meeting

Westbrook Historical Society will conduct its annual meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at the Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.
