More than 1,000 supporters attended the Brunswick Teen Center’s annual Scoop-a-Thon at The Gelato Fiasco, providing more support for the Teen Center than ever before.

The community raised $5,336 for the Brunswick Teen Center in just one day. This is a record-setting total for the event, which has been held for five consecutive years.

We would not be able to make this happen if not for the continued generosity of The Gelato Fiasco. And new this year we had several local businesses sponsor the event including The Big Top Deli, El Camino, The Little Dog Coffee Shop, Maine Optometry, Morning Glory Natural Foods, Little Tokyo, Paper Trails, Waterfront Maine, and Atlantic Regional Federal Credit Union. Each donated $200 or more to the Brunswick Teen Center, helping to make it the best ever!

The Scoop-a-thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year and has a huge impact in the lives of our teens. Nearly 50 celebrity scoopers from Bowdoin College athletic teams, community organizations, town government, and local schools drew in customers and provided comic relief as they learned to scoop under pressure.

They were supported by additional volunteers and entertainers. Musicians from the community, Brunswick High School, and Bowdoin College also performed on the Maine Street sidewalk.

The teens had a great time attending the Scoop-a-Thon, each receiving a free gelato, and many availing themselves of the caricatures being drawn by our event volunteer Charlotte Agell. Thanks again to Matt Loosigian, Lisa Redfern and all the local musicians and volunteers who participated.
