BRUNSWICK — The Gelato Fiasco on Maine Street is hosting a Community Scooping Day all day today to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Gelato Fiasco will donate 100 percent of purchases from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Brunswick for customers who present the “Red Spoon” coupon by showing the red spoon graphic from he American Cancer Society Facebook page.
“A donation of $20 will help connect 20 people with more than 6,000 promising new treatments through our clinical trials matching service,” according to the American Cancer Society.
“If Scooping For Community Day raises $1,000, your donation helps identify a cancer causing gene in DNA so that cancer may be stopped in newly diagnosed patients or prevent the cancer from occurring through new scientific discoveries,” officials at the American Cancer Society said.
Gelato Fiasco is located at 74 Maine St., Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
