BRUNSWICK

Bowdoin College junior Cindy Cammarn advanced to the semifinal round of the “Jeopardy! College Championship” with a strong showing Thursday night.

Competing against students from Stanford and Azusa Pacific universities, Cammarn, 21, never trailed after taking the lead midway through the first round. She finished with a one-night total of $12,700 — despite missing the Final Jeopardy question and two questions relating to Maine and Bowdoin College alumnus Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

The top finisher wins $100,000 and an automatic berth in the game show’s annual “Tournment of Champions.”

Cammarn’s next appearance will be televised Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
