LYMAN — Firefighters were able to prevent a fire that started in a garage from spreading to a nearby home on Monday night.

The Goodwins Mills Fire Department said the fire was reported at 143 Alewive Road, also known as Route 35, in Lyman around 8:30 p.m.

When crews arrived they encountered a garage engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
