Topsham police arrested a man at a U.S. Route 201 residence, charging him with domestic violence assault.
Lt. Fred Dunn said a couple had been arguing and alcohol was involved when 34-yearold Dean Berry allegedly grabbed a woman’s hair, poured homemade moonshine on her and during the course of dragging a mattress from the room and throwing it out a door, pushed the woman into a closet.
The woman complained of neck pain and was taken to Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick.
Berry was arrested Wednesday, charged with domestic violence assault and taken to jail in Wiscasset.
