The members of a morning radio show have volunteered to host a youngster as a guest deejay to help raise funds for the Lisbon Community School.
The opportunity is among a number of unique experiences up for bid May 4 at the Lisbon Community School Spring Auction.
“We’d be thrilled to have a kid in the studio for the morning show.” said morning show veteran Lori Voornas, “We’re pretty much big kids ourselves. Things can get a little crazy around here, so they will fit right in.”
The child will need to be at least 9 when he or she comes to the studio, and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When told that Q 97.9 FM is probably the most popular station with students and parents at the school, co-host Jeff Parsons wasn’t surprised.
“I sort of have an ‘in’ at the school,” he said. Parsons’s son, Jake, attends school at Lisbon Community School.
The auction also includes flute, horseback riding and karate lessons; skydiving, train, limousine, police car and fire truck rides; theme park and botanical garden passes; and haunted tour, music concert, mystery cruise and theater tickets.
“We love to help out when we can.” said Q co-host Meredith Manning. “Kids are so much fun. I can’t wait until our little guest comes in this summer.”
The auction will be held after Cow Patty Bingo on May 4. Call 423-7566.
