
The crash was reported in the area of 1140 Main St., Thursday at 7:04 p.m.
Sgt. Dale Hamilton said the 2006 Hummer was driven by a 17-year-old male from Bowdoin when it struck a utility pole and snapped it into three pieces before the coming to rest in a ditch. The driver, the sole occupant, was not injured. The Hummer sustained considerable damage, Hamilton said.
No charges were issued.
Hamilton said a home at 1128 Main St. had wires and the electrical box torn from the house as a result of the impact. After the crash the Central Maine Power Company listed 259 to 400 customers in Bowdoin as being without power.
