TWO HARRIET BEECHER STOWE Elementary School teams competed at the Destination Imagination state tournament at the University of Maine in Orono on Saturday, April 6. Above, Team Exploding Imaginations, from left, top row, Fiona Edmonds, Nathan Levy, Blake Austin, Alexa Reddy and Brandon Ellis; and, bottom row, Henry Johnson and Julia Barron, competed in a Fine Arts challenge, titled “In Disguise,” in which the team had to create and present a story about a character that uses a disguise. They designed and constructed two masks to use in the story, which they were only allowed to use nonverbal techniques to present. The team won third place in the state for its presentation. The students are in third grade except Fiona, who is a second-grader.
