Awards were presented by 8th District of Maine American Legion Commander Bill O’Connell and Maine first lady Ann LePage, who was made an honorary life member of The American Legion.

“I know what it means to support my husband and children in whatever they choose to do,” LePage said, “so it’s hard for me to imagine just how difficult it must be to have a loved one putting their life on the line each and every day for the safety of others.

“Yet this is what law enforcement officers do every day here in Maine and across the nation. You have all taken an oath to protect and to serve the people of Maine no matter what. I truly thank you for that.” Video @ www.timesrecord.com
