Regular town office hours are Monday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. It is closed for lunch Monday-Friday from noon-1 p.m.

Election,
meeting this week
Polls are open on Election Day, Friday, April 5, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m., at Durham Community School, 654 Hallowell Road. Residents will elect two selectmen, three budget committee members and one director for the Regional School Unit 5 board. All terms are for three years. Town meeting begins on April 5 at 7:45 a.m., to elect a moderator and adjourn to the polls for electing municipal officials. The meeting resumes Saturday, April 6, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Durham Community School gym. Town reports are now available.
School budget review set
The Regional School Unit 5 budget review is Wednesday, April 24., at the Durham Community School cafeteria. There will be a light meal at 5:30 p.m. and public comment starting at 6:30.
Last chance for cookies
Girl Scout Troop 71 is having a cookie booth Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at Food City, Lisbon Falls. This is the last day to get Girl Scout cookies.
Youth Baseball registration open
to April 5
Registration for Durham Youth Baseball is now open through April 5. The program is for ages 4-13 (as of April 30) in Durham, Freeport and Pownal. Signups and payment can be made on the website at www.durhambaseball.com, or print out a form for in-person signups will be held on Wednesday, March 20 and Wednesday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Durham Community School Discovery Room.

Heaven’s Blend
sets concerts
The band Heaven’s Blend will perform Saturday, April 6, at 7 p.m., at St. Matthew Church, Route 196, Lisbon Falls. Donations of food and money are welcome.
Proceeds will benefit the Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry.
The band will also perform Saturday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Hallowell Road, Pownal. The concert will be presented in a Coffee House format with light refreshments. Admission is free and there will be a free will offering. Proceeds benefit the church. PTA seeking auction donations
The Durham PTA’s fourth annual auction is April 27. The PTA uses the money raised to provide field trips, enrichment programs and many teacher-requested educational tools for students.

Bean supper April 13
The Masonic Lodge is hosting a bean supper Saturday, April 13, from 4:30-6 p.m., at the lodge building, Route 136 across from the River Park. On the menu are baked beans, chop suey, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, bread, pickles, homemade pies. The price is $7.50 adults, $3 children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5.
CPR class being offered
A CPR class will be offered on Sunday, April 14, from 1-3 p.m., at the Shiloh Chapel Fellowship Hall, Shiloh Road, Durham. Cost is $25. This is a health-care provider level class, and is open both for first-timers or those needing renewal. Andrew Primevara, from Durham Fire & Rescue, is lead instructor. Food pantry
The Lisbon Area Christian Outreach’s food pantry and clothing bank hours are: Wednesday: 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Thursday: 10 a.m. to noon and Saturday: 8 a.m.-10 a.m. LACO serves the communities of Bowdoin, Durham and Lisbon. The website is www.lacopantry.org.
The physical address for food and clothing is the Marion T. Morse Community Center, enter from the Berry Avenue side behind the Lisbon United Methodist Church. The clothing bank cannot accept furniture, appliances, etc., as they do not have the room to store them. For more, call Debbie at 240-1637.

The Durham Memorial Day Parade Committee is now accepting float and participation registration forms for the 2013 Memorial Day Parade. The committee is also accepting registration forms for the 2013 Amvet’s 5K. Sponsors are being sought for both events.
