
Nearly all vehicles arrive at the museum covered with dust and dirt, most of which can be gently removed. However, in cases where artwork is found, a deeper professional cleaning and stabilization is often warranted. This was the case with the historically important Libby sleigh.
In January, Skyline Farm hired professional painting conservator Roth-Wells to clean and conserve the painting on the sleigh’s back panel. Both the process and end result were exciting, revealing new elements of the painting hidden by grime and discolored varnish for decades, a news release said.
