BRUNSWICK — Buildings at Southern Maine Community College campuses, including the one in Brunswick, were evacuated Monday morning after a bogus, phoned-in bomb threat.
At 8:42 a.m., a phone call was received at the Southern Maine Community College Security Center office stating there were three bombs on campus. No location or detonation times were given, according to authorities.
The caller’s voice was disguised and the call location was not initially available. All three SMCC campuses were evacuated as a precaution.
Portland and state police used explosive-detection canines to search the campus buildings in South Portland.
Brunswick police Sgt. Russ Wrede said his department was not involved in any investigation locally, and the Brunswick Landing campus was to reopen at 4 p.m.
