Portland school buys land in Cumberland
The Friends School of Portland recently purchased 21 acres of land along U.S. Route 1 in Cumberland for the site of its future new home. The building will be built to be environmentally sustainable and the school is working with Stephen Blatt Architects, Kaplan Thomas Architects and dL Studio, a landscape design firm, to design and build the new school. Friends School of Portland is an independent preschool through eighth grade school that embraces the Quaker belief in the unique worth of each individual.
