PORTLAND — Employees of Bath Savings Bank took part in the annual statewide Project Heat telethon, raising money for the Keep ME Warm Fund.
Dozens of volunteer operators staffed the phone lines in the offices of WLBZ 2 in Bangor and WCSH 6 in Portland. All seventy-five operators were employees of Maine banks.
The Maine Bankers Association made a $6,000 cash contribution and Dead River Oil also supplied a team of volunteers.
Project Heat has accepted donations totaling more than $124,000 this season, including a gift of $30,000 from Dead River.
The opportunity to contribute is still open. The secure link to donate can be found at www.wcsh6.com.
Keep ME Warm provides emergency heating assistance through agency partnerships.
