Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick will hold its annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake kickoff event at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at The Highlands, Merrymeeting Bay Room, 24 Elm St.
The event is an opportunity to learn about this year’s fundraising goals and to learn about Big Brothers Big Sisters programs.
A current Big-and-Little match and an alumni Big Brother will speak about their experiences. Mentor recruitment video will be shown and delicious appetizers and beverages will be served.
After more than 40 years, Bowl For Kids’ Sake has become Big Brothers Big Sisters’ largest national fundraiser, engaging more than half a million people across the country, according to the organization.
After raising close to $50,000 last year, Big Brothers Big Brothers of Bath/Brunswick, which has been an affiliate agency since 1981, is looking to raise $55,000 or more this season. All funds stay local, supporting youth in Brunswick, Harpswell and the communities of Sagadahoc County.
This year’s BFKS events will take place on Friday, March 22 at The Bowling Bowl and Saturday, March 30 at Spare Time Family Fun Center, Brunswick.
