RUMFORD — Jake Theriault tossed in 23 points and Adam Volkernick added 17 to lead Mountain Valley High School past Lisbon 72-32 in Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball action on Saturday.
After an 11-11 first-period stalemate, Mountain Valley (9-3) went on a 22-6 run. The hosts also led 56-24 after three periods.
Nick Collins paced Lisbon (2-10 and scheduled to host Boothbay today) with 10 points and Tucker Brannon added eight.
At the foul line, Lisbon was 10 of 12 and MV 18 of 24.

In MVC action on Saturday, Austin Kane and Dylan Price popped in 21 points each to lift visiting Madison (7-5) past the Wolverines in overtime.
Madison led 12-8, 26-19 and 43-37 after the first three quarter breaks, but Wiscasset erupted for 25 fourth-quarter points to force overtime.
Travis Padilla led Wiscasset (7-5 and scheduled to host Winthrop on Tuesday) with 23 points and Dale Peaslee chipped in with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

The visiting Red Eddies (11- 1) rode a strong first half en route to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win at Topsham on Friday.
Edward Little burst out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter before extending the advantage to 35-15 at the half. A strong third quarter brought the 5-7 Eagles to 49-32, and the teams combined for 49 fourthquarter points.
Sean Ford led five Red Eddies in double figures with 20 points. Lew Jensen chipped in 12 points, Nate Alexander and Quin Leary 11 each, and Ian Mileikis 10.
Shyheim Ulrickson led Mt. Ararat, which visits Oxford Hills today at 2 p.m., with 22 points, while Tyler Roberts added 12 and Mason Griffin eight. Alex Lapierre and Jake Demosthenes finished with five points each.
Mt. Ararat was 29 of 41 at the foul line, while Edward Little was 16 of 21.

Wells got 22 points from Jake Moody in a Western Maine Conference verdict over the Falcons on Friday.
Dylan Stevens chipped in with 20 points and Chris Carney added 13 for the 9-3 Warriors, who led 24-17, 41-29 and 64-37 at the breaks.
Jack Davenport scored 12 points for the Falcons, while Jeremy Ketch had nine, Erick Ferreras seven and Chandler Birmingham six.
Freeport dipped to 1-10 and is scheduled to host Gray- New Gloucester this afternoon.

In non-conference Class D action Friday, Seacoast Christian got past the visiting Bobcats, who fell to 5-7 and are scheduled to visit Acadia Christian on Tuesday.
Silas Thomas popped in 15 points (10 of 13 from the foul line) for Seacoast, which led 12-5, 23-21 and 33-30 at the quarter breaks.
Randy Moody led Richmond with 12 points, while Eddie Stewart played a strong all-around game and finished with 10 points. Sean Bernier chipped in with seven.
At the foul line, Richmond was 14 of 23 and Seacoast 20 of 31.
