BRUNSWICK — The second annual Martin Luther King Day pasta supper will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at First Parish Church’s Pilgrim House, 9 Cleveland St.
The supper, organized by the Brunswick Democratic Town Committee, is a nonpartisan event to raise money for Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program, celebrate Maine’s role in advancing civil rights from the 1800s to the present day, and echo Martin Luther King’s call to service. All are welcome.
The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Kenneth Lewis, pastor of Green Memorial AME Zion Chruch in Portland.
The suggested donation is $7 per adult; children younger than 12 are free. Proceeds will go to the Midcoast Hunger Prevention program. Free child care will be provided.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
