BRUNSWICK

American Legion Post 20, in conjunction with Legion Post 202 of Topsham, hosted a veterans’ recognition and Blue Star event Dec. 9. Ten veterans from the local area received certificates thanking them for their service.

Peter Ogden, director of veterans’ services for Maine, presented the awards.

Blue Star Service Flags were presented to members of the Gibbon family from Brunswick. Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Leann Gibbon, parents of Army National Guardsman Pvt. Jesse Gibbon, received a banner and a letter of thanks signed by Maine first lady Ann LePage.
