The Maine Public Safety Pipe & Drum Corps donated $1,300 to help people affected by Superstorm Sandy.
Band members collected money for the Nassau County Firefighters Pipes & Drums on Long Island, which includes firefighters and two band members who lost their houses and possessions.
Pipe Corporal Brian Young met with the New York group Dec. 12 and gave them a check for $1,300, which included their band fee from Nov. 11 performances at Byrnes Irish Pubs in Bath and Brunswick.
