The CurveyQs, a local Red Hat group, has once again raised funds to be given to a local charity.

This year the CurveyQs sponsored a “Sea Side Fling” at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Brunswick on Sept. 15. Many ladies from far and wide attended, raising $2,300 to be donated toward a fuelassistance program.

Once the funds were raised, it was voted to give the check to the Salvation Army.

Other groups to benefit from their work have included local food banks, The Santa Fund, the Bath Mobile Food Truck, the humane societies and more. Typically the group raises funds by holding bake sales and yard sales, but this year they chose to invite other Red Hat groups to gather, meet and enjoy a fun-filled day in order to raise a larger amount, a spokeswoman said.
