BRUNSWICK — New England Regional Theater Company will present “A Christmas Carol — The Musical,” opening at Crooker Theater, 116 Maquoit Road, on Saturday, Dec. 8, with a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m. Another matinee will be performed on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.
Some of the 60 member cast are entire families, with ages ranging from age 5 to 67. Playing the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge is Brunswick resident Patrick Scully.
Listed in the cast of characters are Claire Dauge Roth, Amelia Golden and Melanie Willey as the three ghosts; Mike Blakemore and Kirstin Hayward as the Crachit parents; Aymeric Dauge Roth as Tiny Tim; Emma Rankins as Martha; Ethan Larrabee, Elizabeth Porter and Fiona Edmonds as the Crachit children; Dave Moser and Pam Hurley-Moser as Mr. and Mrs. Anderson with their Anderson children, Sabina Moser, Alexa Reddy and Johnmarcus Willey; John Rankins and Rae Duval as the Fezziwigs; Gina Bergeron as Emily; Tyler Beck as Ebeneezer at 18; Brian Pelletier as young Ebeneezer; Jaqulyn Perfetto as Mrs. Mops; Amberly Shea as Grace; Christopher Holmes as Young Marley; Lucas Rankins as Jonathon; John Reddy as Beadle; Madeleine Blakemore as Fan; and John Rankins as Jacob Marley.
The strong ensemble who play bankers, street vendors, dancing girls, monks and more are Kate Lord, Murton Small, Nate and Sarah Dwelley, Courtney Garrion, Peter Latouf, Mackenzie Burrows, Linda Garland, Beth Larrabee, Rowen Larrabee, Anthony Pelletier, Gabriella Head, Emmaleigh Fish, Charlotte Blakemore, Izabellah Deviney, Sararose Willey, Ian Loughrey, Evie Phelps and Shelby Cash.
There are many wonderful versions of the Dickens classic; however, directors Rebecca Beck and Elaine Perry along with tech director John Willey planned a few surprises for the audience with this production.
The performance will be accompanied by a live orchestra. The score, from composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, brings the beloved story to a musical experience of amazing song and dance, a news release said.
