TOPSHAM
A Topsham woman was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with nonlifethreatening injuries Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle on Meadow Road.
The incident was reported at 4:23 p.m., according to Sgt. Mark Gilliam of the Topsham Police Department, and occurred in front of the Bisson farm.
Gilliam said David Jefferson, 68, of Brunswick was traveling south in a Chevy Suburban and struck Cindy Bisson, 35, who was wearing dark clothing and had stepped into the roadway. Gilliam said a car was approaching in the oncoming traffic lane, and Jefferson had nowhere to go and struck Bisson.
Bisson was transported to Maine Medical Center as a precaution.
Gilliam said charges are pending.
Topsham police also responded to a minor crash two hours later, on Route 196.
The crash was reported at 7:34 p.m. near Blueberry Lane. Gilliam said 24-year-old Duane Hodge of Topsham had stopped on Route 196 to make a lefthand turn and was struck from behind by 31- year-old Andre Ouellette of Old Orchard Beach.
Ouellette was transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with minor injuries and his Toyota Tacoma was totaled, Gilliam said.
The Chrysler Town and Country van driven by Hodge sustained rear end damage and was towed from the scene.
No charges were filed.
