BATH — Gifts of Gratitude, a troop support program of American Legion Smith Tobey Post 2, is collecting supplies and comfort items to include in care packages being sent to deployed soldiers.

“We ship to individual troops about every 45 to 60 days,” said Ginny Chaput, American Legion Smith- Tobey Unit 21 president, “sometimes two to three troops at a time and usually 15 to 20 boxes each.

“At Christmas we do a larger shipment,” she said. “Last year, we shipped to five different troops and a total of 90 boxes.”

A Morse High School schoolwide collection of items was delivered to the Legion post Nov. 19.
