Gorham performers in ‘The Nutcracker’

Several dancers from Gorham will appear in Maine State Ballet’s holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker” in seven performances opening on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Merrill Auditorium in Portland.

The Gorham dancers are Estelle Ballard, Annmarie Dellasala, Angela Dellasala, Nathaniel Dombek, Charlotte Feinberg, Kate Larkin, Hailee Willey and Monica Willey.

Under the direction of Artistic Director and former New York City Ballet member Linda MacArthur Miele, “The Nutcracker” features the timeless music of Tchaikovsky.

Performances are on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 25, 2 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 1, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 2, 2 p.m.

Topiaries are garden club topic

Gorham Garden Club member Mary Morin will speak when the group meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St.

Morin’s presentation will be about making a boxwood topiary besides talking about topiaries using other plants.

Montalvo names sales rep

The Montalvo Corp. in Gorham, international specialists in industrial web control systems, has named Tony Rossetti as inside sales rep at its Gorham headquarters.

Rossetti’s responsibility will be to become familiar with all Montalvo products and services, provide sales support for customers from headquarters, and assist the company’s field sales representatives.

Rossetti is a 1995 graduate of Lake Region High School in Naples, where he also now makes his hometown. He and his wife Amy have a young son, Nolan.

In addition to Gorham, Montalvo also has facilities in Denmark and China.

Marcantonio promoted

Brig. Gen. James D. Campbell, Maine National Guard adjutant general, has announced that Chelsea Marcantonio of Gorham was promoted last month to sergeant in the Maine Army National Guard..

Marcantonio is a member of the Forward Support Company, 133d Engineer Battalion.

U.S. taxpayer debt

The Bureau of Public Debt reported on Nov. 8 that the U.S. public debt was $16,245,318,820,569.34.
