FREEPORT – Problems with a switching signal on the line have led to delays on the first day of service for the Amtrak Downeaster between Freeport and Brunswick to Boston.

According to Amtrak, the initial train, which was supposed to depart from Freeport at 7:20 a.m., will not arrive in town until approximately 8:45 a.m.
