BATH — “An Update on eReaders and eBooks” will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the secondfloor community room at Patten Free Library.
The hands-on information session is free and open to the public.
“Consumers can choose any number of different devices now if they want to read eBooks; some mobile phones can even accommodate eBooks,” said Roberta Jordan, a Patten outreach librarian. “As this year’s holiday shopping season approaches, we thought it would be a good idea to offer our patrons a review of choices they have and the factors to consider when purchasing an eReader, and to review how to borrow and download eBooks through the library’s ‘Overdrive’ service.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
