BRUNSWICK — Once again the Brunswick High School Lady Dragons basketball program is hosting hypnotist Paul Ramsay at Crooker Theater.

But this year there will be a new twist to the Oct. 25 show, which begins at 7 p.m. “Mind Games,” which Ramsey has been performing at colleges across the country for the past two years, approaches stage hypnotism from a whole new angle, a news release said. It’s interactive, original entertainment that transforms average students into a cast of characters before one’s eyes.

Ramsay is a two-time graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English teaching (1996), and a master’s degree in secondary education (2002). He taught English at a public high school, then entered the world of student affairs by returning to his alma mater and working in residential life.

Whether in the classroom or on campus, Ramsey’s goal was always to create opportunities for people to experience transformational change and gain new personal insights, and in his search for how to best do this he finally came upon hypnotism.

After earning his certification through the National Guild of Hypnotists, Ramsey joined the National Association for Campus Activities and began working the college circuit. At the same time, he began seeking opportunities to perform at high schools in New Hampshire. He has performed in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.

Tickets are $10 in advance through Brunswick High School coach Sam Farrell, or through Cathy Carlton by calling 837-3275.

Tickets are $12 at the door.
