TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School seventh grade field hockey team played Bath Middle School to a 0-0 standoff on Monday.
Mt. Ararat goaltender Clarissa LeBourdais made four saves, while midfielders Lexi Laurelez, Chloe Anna and Colony Hymers-Horne played well.
Karen Yurek (three saves) and Lilah Pashley (two) worked the nets for Bath, while Jensin Fish, Rebecca Click and Isabelle Cushman stood out.
The two teams will meet again in Bath on Friday.
In eighth-grade action, Mt. Ararat lost to Oak Hill 4-0, as goaltender Haley Frizzle was busy with 15 saves.
Sidney Tilton scored three goals and Erica Hannigan one in the win.
Performing well in the loss were Thalia Couture, Samantha Gonyea and Caitlyn Witwicki, while Oak Hill’s McKenzie Thibeault stood out.
Mt. Ararat eighth-graders will also play at Bath on Friday.
