BRUNSWICK — “Reflection on Reflections,” photographic works by Judith Long, is on display at Gallery Framing, 12 Pleasant St., for the month of October.

A reception to meet the artist will be held tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. during Second Friday Art Walk.

The images in the Gallery Framing show were shot during the past three years at locations in Maine, Illinois, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Spain and Ecuador.

According to a news release, Long is a member of Points of View Artists in Brunswick and Circling the Square Fine Arts Press in Gardiner. She is drawn to photographing faces, architecture and “death and destruction,” including graveyards, buildings destroyed by fire or wrecking ball and detritus.

She is also intrigued by reflections.

“I look for reflective surfaces where light, form and shadow intersect. Here, distortion is often as true as realism and shiny surfaces frequently reveal surprising depth. This may not happen at the moment of shooting, but upon later reflection,” Long said.

Gallery Framing’s hours are weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
