BANGOR (AP) — Hollywood Casino and Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor are kicking off the next round of table games training.
The casino and college forged a partnership last fall for the school to offer a course in table games where students would learn how to deal cards for black jack and poker. “Introduction to Table Games for Dealers” kicks off tonight and continues through Sept. 28 on the college campus.
Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway manager John Osborne says the classes have been invaluable in ensuring local people acquire needed skills.
Mike Ballesteros from EMCC says about 100 people have successfully completed the courses so far, putting them on track for a new career.
