BRUNSWICK
Five newcomers and three incumbents have submitted nomination papers and signatures for municipal office.
Of those candidates, however, only two races — the school board’s District 4 and At-Large seats — will be contested. Federico Senence, of 4 Westminster Ave., is challenging incumbent board member Corinne Perrault for the District 4 seat, while Dale King, of 1 Simpson Point Road, and Joy Prescott, of 102 Echo Road, are running for the At- Large seat.
Each of the remaining races are uncontested:
Incumbent District 3 town councilor Suzan Wilson is seeking re-election, as is current District 4 councilor John Perrault.
John Richardson Jr., of 19 Juniper Road, is seeking the council’s open At-Large seat currently occupied by outgoing chairwoman Joanne King.
Christopher McCarthy, of 189 Rossmore Road, is running unopposed for school board District 3.
If some of the candidates’ names look familiar, it’s because they are: school board At-Large candidate Dale King is the husband of outgoing council chairwoman Joanne King, while school board District 4 candidate Corinne Perrault is the wife of council District 4 incumbent and candidate John Perrault.
Candidates for district races had to submit at least 25 constituency signatures for eligibility; candidacy for atlarge seats require at least 100 signatures, said town clerk Fran Smith.
