WATERVILLE (AP) — Motorcyclists from throughout Maine plan a ride to Portland to raise awareness for Ayla Reynolds, the toddler from Waterville who’s been missing since December, and other missing people.
Riders are meeting at locations across the state Saturday and will converge on Portland where a barbecue picnic will be held. The Morning Sentinel of Waterville says half of the proceeds from the event will cover the cost of putting it on, and the rest will be donated to the organization LostNMissing.
The group prints high-quality, weather-resistant posters for missing persons, large banners, car door magnets and runs websites.
Ayla’s step grandfather, Jeff Hanson, plans to attend the event. Ayla was reported missing from her home on Dec. 17. Police say there are no new developments in the eight-month-old case.
