Four people were hurt during a two-car accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Rabbit Road and Route 136, also known as Royalsborough Road.

Bethany Picker, 43, of Lewiston, and her 8-year-old daughter were headed south on Route 136 at 9 a.m. Wednesday when their 2004 Honda Pilot collided with a Hyundai Elantra driven by Rayna Campbell, 18, of New Gloucester, who was eastbound on Rabbit Road. Damage to both cars was extensive, according to a statement released by the Androscoggin County Sheriff ’s Department.

Freeport and Durham emergency crews had to cut all four of the crash victims from their respective cars.

Sheriff ’s department officials would not comment on the cause of the crash, or whether there would be any charges issued, pending completion of the accident reconstruction.

Campbell and her 12-yearold passenger, whose name was not disclosed, were taken by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment. Picker and her daughter, whose name also was not released, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. However, none of the injuries were characterized as life threatening.

Campbell was listed in satisfactory condition at Maine Medical Center this morning, while a hospital spokeswoman for CMMC said Picker was discharged Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Sgt. William Gagne of the sheriff ’s department said this morning that both children had been released from the hospitals.
