Carole (Armstrong) Bunter, died on Thursday, August 9. 2012 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Carole was the sole survivor of seven siblings. Carole, graduated from the University of Maine 1953, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Education. She later earned her Masters Degree at Loyola College in Baltimore and completed a sabbatical at Oxford University in England.

A memorial service will be conducted at Saint John’s Episcopal Church at 100 South Main Street, Southampton, NY at eleven o’clock on Saturday, September 29, 2012 conducted by Reverend Peter Larsen. Internment will be at a later date.

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1930, her family moved to West Bath, Maine in 1941, where her father founded the New Meadows Inn. Carole married William A. Bunter, of Salisbury, Connecticut in 1953. Besides her husband, Carole is survived by three daughters, Judith Ruggiero of Madison, Connecticut, Nancy Bunter and Susan Price of Southhampton, NY and four grandchildren, William, Robert, Samuel and Madeline.

Carole taught English in the Catskill, New York school system until moving to Ellicott City, Maryland where she taught English in the local school system. Retiring in 1992 Carole and William retired to Arrowsic Island, Maine where Carole continued to substitute in the Bath, Maine school system, until moving to Southhampton in 2002.
