ROCKLAND — On Saturday, Sept. 15, the Farnsworth’s new membership group, the Collective, will take an overnight trip to Monhegan Island as part of its 2012 programming.

The two-day trip, open to all, is in association with the current Farnsworth exhibition “Jamie Wyeth, Rockwell Kent and Monhegan,” on display at the museum’s Wyeth Center through Dec. 30.

A news release describes the trip as follows:

Join fellow art lovers for an exploration of Monhegan Island, which, for more than 100 years, has inspired myriad artists including George Bellows, James Fitzgerald, Robert Henri, Rockwell Kent and Jamie Wyeth. Led by Farnsworth preparator, artist and former island resident Leith MacDonald, participants will enjoy an afternoon of hiking and exploring followed by an evening of conversation, relaxation and fun.

The cost for this program is $150 for Collective members.

For non-members the fee are:

— $200 for one person, which will include a one-year individual Farnsworth membership plus a single Collective add-on membership.

— $345 for two people, which will include a one-year dual Farnsworth membership and a couple Collective addon membership.

The prices include roundtrip ferry transportation, tour, overnight accommodations, dinner, breakfast and gratuities.

Space is extremely limited. The deadline for reservations is Friday, Aug. 24. A $75 deposit is required upon reservation.
