Brunswick police have released two images of a suspect caught on surveillance at Shaw’s on July 31 who they say broke into the store’s pharmacy while it was closed and made off with a large amount of controlled narcotics.
Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said the store closed at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31. At around 10:50 p.m. that night, a male came into the store — located in Merrymeeting Plaza on Bath Road — and asked what time the store closed, Hagan said. He then headed toward the restrooms, which are located near the pharmacy, which had closed
at 8 p.m. and was locked. A few minutes later, employees heard the pharmacy alarm going off and one of the employees ran outside to see a suspect leaving in a vehicle — described as an older model blue or black pickup truck. Hagan said the store manager came to the police department and reviewed video with police, who saw the suspect had broken into the pharmacy. Hagan said a substantial amount of controlled narcotics was taken. Anyone who may be able to identify the suspect or with any information related to the burglary is asked to contact Brunswick police at 725- 5521 and ask for Detective Bill Moir.
