Team 1 kicks off with a retreat Sept. 7 and 8, then meets for seven Mondays, beginning Sept. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. A kick-off retreat for Team 2 will be held Sept. 14 and 15, then meets for seven Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m.
In each team, participants come up with a goal to work on, develop a plan to reach the goal, and take concrete steps toward it week by week.
A news release from Ambler states, “What makes this technique different is your teammates — they are your secret weapon. They not only cheer your successes; they give you a nudge when you need help to get going. They have courage for you when you lack your own, and persistence for you when you want to give up. You can be cranky or have no willpower and still get to your goal.”
Ambler has led Dream Teams for the last three years. Goals of team members in the past have included writing a novel, ending human trafficking, becoming a certified hand therapist, and learning to play the dulcimer.
Out of the work she did with her team, Bath resident Jackie Zimowski founded No Human Trafficking, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works internationally to end human slavery.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
