PITTSTON (AP) — The Pittston Fair in central Maine is celebrating its 60th anniversary as it kicks off with four days of agricultural exhibits, oxen and horse pulling competitions, music, carnival rides, fireworks and more.
The fair in the town of Pittston gets under way today and runs through Sunday. It typically attracts 15,000 to 20,000 fair-goers.
The fair features a demolition derby, a backhoe competition, a frying pan toss contest, pig scrambles and plenty of animals.
The Pittston Fair is the fourth fair of Maine’s agricultural fair season.
