Town looking for RSU rep

The town of Pownal is looking for a volunteer to serve one year of a three-year term for a vacant seat on the RSU 5 Board of Directors.

Vacation Bible School

The Pownal Center Congregational Church on Route 9 is holding Vacation Bible School the week of July 30 through Aug. 3 from 9-11:15 a.m. All children the ages of 5 through 12 are welcome. They will enjoy Bible stories, games and crafts. For more information, call Doris Blackstone at 688-4791.

Food pantry open on Tuesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church on Lawrence Road, has new hours for distributing food from its pantry. It is now open every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.- noon. Volunteers never know from week to week what will be available, but the pantry usually gets different kinds of breads, produce, desserts, etc. All are welcome.
