WISCASSET — Seeds of Knowledge Education Center is offering three programs in the month of August. A release from the center describes the programs as follows:

— “Catch the Writing Wave” is a unique writing camp where children will engage in fun, interactive activities with friends to foster creativity and imagination. They will explore elements of effective writing to improve communication with authentic audiences and become more confident writers. “Catch the Writing Wave” will take place Aug. 6 to 10 from 9 a.m.-noon and is geared toward children entering grades 1 to 6. The cost is $125, which includes materials.

— Seeds of Knowledge’s newest workshop, “Math Mania: Adventures in Geometry,” will help children develop an understanding of how geometry relates to their lives. Children will reason with shapes and their attributes, using high level thinking skills. Hands-on activities will involve analyzing, comparing, and creating 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. Lines, angles, symmetry and perimeter are topics older children will explore. A culminating activity will involve lots of bubbles! “Adventures in Geometry” will be offered on Aug. 23 for children entering grades 1 to 5. The cost is $35.

— The popular “Fun with Physics: What’s the Matter?” workshop, where children explore the world of physics through hands-on experiments and investigations, will be offered on Aug. 16 for children entering grades 1 to 6. The cost is $35.

The instructors are Tanya Albert and Lisa Truesdell, and classes will be held at Wiscasset Scout Hall.
