BOWDOINHAM — Ornithologist Will Broussard will lead a morning bird sounds walk near Merrymeeting Bay from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday in Bowdoinham.
Broussard, the outreach coordinator for Mount Washington Observatory, studied conservation biology at Antioch University New England graduate school and was the youngest person certified by the Cornell Ornithology Lab for the recording of bird sounds.
Although the walk will be on easy terrain, participants should wear sturdy shoes offering protection from mud and water. The walk will occur rain or shine.
Advance registration for the walk, sponsored by Friends of Merrymeeting Bay, is required. To sign up, call Ed Friedman at 666-3372.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
