PORTLAND — Motorists should try to avoid a section of Congress Street during their morning commute Thursday.

Nicole Clegg, the city of Portland’s spokeswoman, said the city’s Department of Public Services is planning to repair Congress Street, between Dow and State streets, between 6 a.m. and noon.
