FREEPORT — Gregory G. Allen, author of “Well With My Soul,” will speak about his new book, “Patchwork of Me.” and at 7 p.m. Monday at Freeport Community Library, 10 Library Drive.
“Allen has been in the entertainment business for (more than) 20 years as an actor, director, writer and producer with over 10 shows where he has served as writer, composer/lyricist,” a library release states.
“Patchwork of Me” focuses on Sara Butler, a product of the foster care system, who spends her early 30s hiding from her past with her small group of quirky friends in Arizona.
“To patch her life back together, she realizes she must travel across country to Maine to confront that past in order to plan for a future,” the release states.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
