PRESQUE ISLE (AP) — Authorities say a 4-year-old girl has died and three adults have been injured in a twovehicle crash in Presque Isle.
Police say the little girl was in a minivan driven by 26- year-old Sarah Berube that was stopped on Route 1 south to take a turn at about noon Wednesday when it was struck from behind by a sport utility vehicle.
The SUV was driven by 73- year-old Arthur Cullins of Caribou, who told police he did not realize the minivan stopped.
The impact sent both vehicles into the northbound lane and shoulder, forcing other vehicles off the road.
Police tell the Bangor Daily News the girl was taken by ambulance to Aroostook Medical Center where she died. Her name was not released.
The crash remains under investigation.
