Sebago Brewing Co. celebrates decade
in Gorham
The Sebago Brewing Co.restaurant, 29 Elm St., is celebrating its 10th year in Gorham on Sunday, June 24, from 4-8 p.m., with free food and music.
A local favorite in the heart of downtown, the restaurant is housed in the historic Gorham Railroad Station.
Railroads have a long history in Gorham. The restaurant is situated adjacent to the former location of tracks of the York and Cumberland Railroad that ran from Portland to Gorham 162 years ago. The line subsequently was known as Portland and Rochester (New Hampshire) Railroad and also as the Sanford and Eastern Railroad.
The restaurant offers a family dining experience with a large menu.
Farmers market open Saturdays
Gorham Farmers Market is open 8 a.m.-noon on Saturdays through Nov. 3 adjacent to Baxter Memorial Library on South Street. Some vendors stay until 1 p.m.
Available products include seedlings, flowers, milk, vegetables, baked goods, meats and fiber products like sweaters. Ten vendors include Little River Flower Farm and Christmas Farm Alpacas, both in Buxton; Fineview Farm, Gorham; and Dow Farm, Standish.
Pam Randall of Christmas Farm Alpacas exhibits two animals each week at the market. “It’s really a big draw,” Randall said.
Ample free parking is available along South Street and also in the municipal lot behind the library with access from South Street to Morrill Avenue and Ball Park Road.
Gorham couple celebrates 60th
Ruth and George Ayers of School Street will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 22.
The family will celebrate the occasion with a get-together of children and spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on Saturday, June 23.

The Gorham Business Exchange will hold its annual “Welcome Summer!” reception at Key Bank, 45 Main St., Gorham, on Thursday, June 28, from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

Potluck
with a purpose
South Gorham Baptist Church is hosting its third “Potluck with a Purpose” dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 29, at the church, 53 County Road (Route 22).
Darcy Pierce, senior partner with Envoy, a Maine-based firm focused on connecting the business world with the developing world, will speak about human trafficking and sex slavery from a global perspective – specifically India and Southeast Asia.
Pierce is a frequent guest on television and radio talk and news programs and is often sought for expert opinion on international aid, development, and gifts in kind management issues during times of natural disasters.
Peter on dean’s list
Lauren Peter of Gorham has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Peter is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in public relations.
