TOPSHAM — The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department is offering numerous, camps and programs during the upcoming summer months.
Seacoast Camps
Seacoast Olympic Multi- Sport Camps are for ages 8 and up. Seacoast United Maine will be offering two camps in cooperation with Topsham Parks and Recreation.
The camps will be weeklong Multi-Sport Camps running from 9 a.m. to noon. Each day participants will play three different sports, such as bocce ball, soccer, baseball/softball, basketball, cricket, flag football, handball, volleyball, roller skating and other Olympic games.
Cost per week is $120.
Dates of camps are June 25- 29 and Aug. 6-10.

Fury Basketball
Designed for the competitive middle school and high school female athlete, this five-day camp is for Mt. Ararat girls entering grades 7-12.
Varsity basketball coach Kelly LaFountain and her players will provide skillbuilding, conditioning and player development.
Held at Mt. Ararat High School on June 18-22 from 5:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m.
Cost is $65, which includes camp T-shirt.
Non-Contact Football
Directed by Mt. Ararat varsity football coach Frank True and the varsity coaching staff for grades 3-8.
The camp will be held at the Mt. Ararat High School practice field, located behind the commissary on Republic Ave.
This program will provide youngsters with the necessary fundamental skills to enjoy the game of football.
The program is scheduled to run June 25-28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $45 and includes a camp Tshirt.
Eagle Football Camp
True and the varsity coaching staff offers a two-week camp for prospective high school players in the Mt. Ararat school district.
Participants will work on basic football skills development, team concepts and individual drills to be used by the athlete to develop football skills.
The camp will begin July 16 and finish on July 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A football helmet, shoulder pads and football cleats are necessary, and the camp will be held on the Mt. Ararat High School football practice field, located behind the commissary on Republic Ave.
Cost will be $60 and includes a camp T-shirt.
Eagle Field Hockey
Join Mt. Ararat varsity field hockey coach Kelly LaFountain in this three-day clinic for grades 1-8.
Participants will learn stick skills, defensive and offensive techniques, and participate in a variety of shortsided games.
The program runs June 26- 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Foreside Field Area.
Clinic cost is $30, and stick packages ($27) are available.
Candlepin Youth Bowling
Held seasonally throughout the year for children ages 8- 14, this program offers both introductory level and advanced level candlepin bowling opportunities.
The program is scheduled to begin on June 13, and run for 10 weeks from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bowling Bowl.
Cost to register is $35 with a $10 additional non-resident fee, and includes instruction, shoes and strings.
Topsham Youth Soccer
The deadline to register for the Topsham Youth Soccer League for children ages 5-14 is July 16.
Ages are of Oct. 15, 2012.
Youth Football & Cheering
Youth football (grades 1-8) and cheering (grades K-8) practices start in August.

Eagle Basketball Camp
Join Mt. Ararat varsity basketball coaches in this program for grades 1-8.
The week camp runs from July 16-20 for both boys and girls.
The girls’ program will take place at the middle school, and the boys’ program will be at the high school.
Grades 1-5 are from 9 a.m. to noon, and grades 6-8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop basketball skills in a fun, structured and positive atmosphere. Camp shirts will be provided, as well as individual skills and competition awards.
Cost for either session is $70, and is open to children from within School Administrative District 75.
Ararat Nation Baseball
Join Mt. Ararat varsity baseball Coach Bob Neron and his players for this weeklong baseball camp at Foreside Road in Topsham.
For grades 4-8, the camp runs June 18-21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Players can take part in drills, skills, batting practice, gamelike scenarios and game play to sharpen their baseball aptitude.
Ararat Nation T-shirts will be provided to all registrants, and the cost for camp is $50.
Annual Fishing Rally
The annual Fishing Rally, co-sponsored by Topsham Parks and Recreation and the Topsham Public Library, is scheduled for June 16 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the ponds behind the Solid Waste Facility.
If participants don’t have a fishing pole, don’t worry. The Topsham Public Library’s Fishing Tackle Loaner Program will be on hand to make sure everyone from young to old can enjoy themselves.
Mt. Ararat Soccer Camp
Join Mt. Ararat varsity soccer coaches Sam Chard and Rick Renaud for this oneweek Skill Development Clinic.
Will run July 9-13 from 10 a.m. to noon, and held at the Topsham Foreside Recreational Field Area.
High school players will offer their support and direction as counselors for ages 5- 14.
Cost of $55 includes camp T-shirt.
Challenger Soccer Camp
Held the August 13-17.
This unique camp provides participants the ability to gain exposure of the English culture and the game of soccer through British counselors.
This program is scheduled to take place at the Foreside Field Area, and the cost includes a T-shirt and a ball.
Children ages 4-6 (minicamp, 1 1/2 hours) are from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and 10:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Children 6-12 are from 9 a.m. to noon.
The fees are: Mini Camp (ages 4-6), $83/$93 non-resident, and half day (ages 6-12), $120/$130 non-resident.
Youth Tennis Lessons
For children ages 8-14.
This year Topsham is also offering an Open Friday Program that will provide all participants the opportunity to play against other Mid-coast region programs in a Team Tennis Program.
Lessons will begin on June 25, and run for five weeks with a fee of $50 for residents of SAD 75.
Youth Lessons (ages 8-10) will be held on Monday with Wednesday, with beginners at 8 a.m., and intermediates at 9:15 a.m.
Junior Lessons for ages 11- 14 on Tuesdays with Thursdays, with beginners at 8 a.m., and intermediates at 9:15 a.m.
Class size is limited to eight children per session, and will take place at the Mt. Ararat Middle School courts. Tennis racquets are available, but participants should call ahead to reserve one.
Tennis Lessons for Adults
Feeling the need to get out and exercise? Want to have fun and learn the game of tennis as well?
This five-week program will begin on June 26 and run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Beginners and novices are welcome.
Instruction will cover basic tennis strokes, as well as playing games with other adults who have a similar skill level.
Cost to participate is $50 for residents of SAD 75.
Golf Youth Lessons
To be held at the Highland Green Golf Course.
This program is run by Gerry Caron, longtime golf instructor in the Brunswick area. Participants will learn iron play, chipping, putting and course etiquette.
Lessons on Tuesday mornings, beginning July 10, and will run for four weeks from 11 a.m. to noon with players ages 8-15.
Cost to register for this program is $50 for residents and $57 for non-residents.
