PORTLAND — The Bowie Baysox defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-5, at Hadlock Field on Thursday afternoon to salvage the final game of a three-game Eastern League baseball series.
The Sea Dogs jumped on top in the third inning, as Shannon Wilkerson picked up an RBI single, extending his hitting streak to seven games.
Reynaldo Rodriguez, who was 4-for-5, doubled in the fourth and scored on a two-out double by Derrik Gibson for a 2-0 Portland lead.
Portland retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Juan Carlos Linares extended his hitting streak to 10 games when his double drove in Nick Natoli, and Jeremy Hazelbaker made it a 4-2 game with an RBI double in the sixth.
But, Bowie answered, scoring five runs in the seventh for a 7-4 lead.
Chris Balcom-Miller matched his season high strikeout total with five, but threw a seasonhigh six walks for Portland. Chorye Spoone took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits.
