Free craft time

for adults

Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., is hosting Craft Time with Michelle at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 9.

Take a ruler and pencil and leave with a sweet craft project. Space is limited. To reserve a spot, call 854-0630 ext.256. The program is free and for those age 18 and up.

Handicapped accessible and parking is available.

Free ice cream social at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 Main St., Westbrook, will host a free ice cream social from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday June 10. Entertainment will be provided by Roger Knight’s Paul’s Pals. All are welcome.

Foye golf tournament

The first Jimmy Foye Golf Tournament will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Gorham Country Club in Gorham.

The tournament with teams of four is a scramble format with a shotgun start.

Day at library conference

Kelly Day of Westbrook was awarded a scholarship to attend the Maine Libraries United conference at the University of Maine in Orono last month.

Day is a part-time library technical assistant at the Walker Memorial Library in Westbrook and also a substitute in the youth services and lending services departments at the Portland Public Library.

She was chosen as one of four recipients in the state to attend the annual conference of public and school libraries in Maine. The scholarship committee based its selection of the candidates based on a written essay and financial need.

Legacy Publishing consolidates

Legacy Publishing Co., producer of the Total Transformation Program, announced recently the consolidation of its Auburn branch into its facility at 100 Larrabee Road in Westbrook, effective Monday, July 2.

Legacy Publishing opened its new, state-of-the-art customer engagement center in mid-December of 2011. According to Executive Vice President Jim DeWolfe, “The consolidation brings our talented sales professionals and leaders together in one location, which will be instrumental in achieving the collaborative and supportive work environment necessary to produce great results.”

All 30 employees of the Auburn branch have been offered positions within the company while Legacy continues to grow its sales team.
